Tightrope Books Call for Submissions: Graphic Poems

Tightrope Books is looking for work from contemporary Canadian writers for a collection of "graphic poems." This anthology is being edited by Paola Poletto and Jake Kennedy.s

The works should be proportionately disengaged from strategies such as dada or concrete poetry, and play up the narrative tropes of the contemporary graphic novel and/or comics. We are looking for something between the graphic novel and poetic verse. A graphic poem is contemporary verse combined with multiple images.

The graphic poems we are looking for will tackle the broad topic of boredom.

Change deadline for Graphic poetry to May 1st.
Due to popular demand the deadline for the Graphic Poetry Anthology has been extended to May 1st.

There is no word or image limit. Book page size is tbd, with single colour print (black/grey scale). The works may be collaborative or by a single author. Jake Kennedy (poet and instructor) and Paola Poletto (senior director of programs at Design Exchange and co-founder of Kiss Machine) will co-edit the project.

Selected authors will receive two contributor's copies of the publication, slated for release in early 2008.

Please send submissions or a proposal for submissions to follow to Paola Poletto: paolapoletto@gmail.com and/or Jake Kennedy: jakedavidkennedy@gmail.com
